Finding good food is often a challenge. And certainly if you have an allergy or intolerance taken into account. Does the chef and other staff know how important it is? These are questions that always come to mind.
Sometimes you come across a gem where they have things in order. That they know what they are talking about and have everything sorted, right from the opening. I made this pleasant discovery at the opening of Rozey in Rotterdam, the Netherlands at Wijnhaven 85.
Rozey vegetarian and vegan restaurant
The restaurant Rozey has an all-inclusive menu with 55 dishes, half of which are vegan, the rest is vegetarian. Each round you can choose 2 dishes and you can easily spend an entire evening there.
The drinks are also included, you eat and drink there from Monday – Thursday for € 32.50, at the weekend for € 37.50.
Children from 4 to 11 can already join for € 17.50.
What did we eat?
We started with a sandwich with hummus and muhammara, then came the pulled pork bitterbal. Nice and crispy and really so bizarre that it contained no meat! The sweet potato fries … Vietnamese spring roll … beet carpaccio … everything just as tasty! But the pinnacle for me was the pulled jackfruit sandwich. What a gem that was. For dessert we have Rozey’s garden, a chocolate desert and the blood orange ice cream with a macaron. I could not eat any more, so next time I will definitely try the tompouce for desert!
How about the allergens?
Roos Rutjes, co-owner of Rozey, has the allergen information on each dish ready for you. Everything is freshly prepared, so if there is a dish that contains something that you can’t have, it can always be adjusted. Everything has been thought through, from the cutlery to the decor. Everything is sustainable and glows love for nature and animal welfare. They are open every day from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Will you let me know how you liked it when you do there?
