O, what did I miss onions at the elimination phase of the low-FODMAP diet! I was so glad when I found out that when you use flavored oil the smell and the taste of the dishes came back. In this recipe I share with you how to make the easiest onion flavored oil for all of you dishes.

What you need:
one large onion
120 ml or 1/2 cup oil, I used sunflower oil
Cut the onion in large chunks. Get a small sauce pan and add the oil and onion chunks. Heat up to approximate 50 Celsius / 122 Fahrenheit and then turn the heat low. Let the onion in for about 45 minutes.
Then remove from the heat source, let the oil cool. Drain the oil through a strainer so all of the onion is left behind. Pour the oil in a glass jar or bottle and use within tree days.
